I had an interesting week last week ....

Last week I ...

Had a wedding Anniversary,
Flew to Cairo
Slept in 6 different hotels in 8 nights.
Drove almost 2000 Kms around egypts western desert in Land Cruisers.
Woke up to a Pyramid out side my bedroom window.
Drove through the desert to see the golden mummys of Balahria.
Chased a Sunset over a mountain in a land cruiser.
Saw a truely dark sky with a myriad of stars with no light pollution.
Stood in the bottom of a 30 + million year old sea bed that is now a desert
Visited the Oasis at Siwa and the temple of the Oracle that Alexander the Great consulted.
Stood in the shadow of a total eclipse on a vast desert plateau.
Paused at the war graves of El Alamain.
Visted the Museam of Alexander
Slept in Agatha Cristies room at the Cecil Hotel
Climbed the inside of two of the Great Pyramids of Giza
Boggled at the contents of Tutankhamun's tombs
Watched a light show against the spinx
Had a few beers
Came home ...

Don't get me started on the sky - it was stunning (and also don't get me started on the fact that rita talked me into NOT taking the small telescope with me :( )

Oh, don't worry about that - it would probably have gotten broken, and then you'd be even more hassled.

I know - but to have missed that sky !!!
