Apr. 13th, 2005 09:43 amInterestingly enough the Eastercon debate is continuing but has moved off of my LJ to another one - which started off by quoting mine ( http://trufen.net/article.pl?sid=05/04/06/0211226 ). It seems nore people agree with me than I expected.
I'm watching the thread - I dont expect anything to change.
As predicited a 2007 Bid does seem to be emerging - but they are planning on using the Adelphi in Liverpool for it. That would be a no from my point of view and many others. I have now done 4 conventions there (Cult TV being the last) and I am never going back. Under any circumstances.
Aside from the security and cleanliness issues it has the rudest staff at any hotel, and I will not pay to be insulted - again. The last straw was the comment when we requested the Non Smoking room we had booked 8 months previously and were told (by the manager - not the desk clerk, who didnt care at all) 'You con people pay next to nothing, you will have what rooms we want to give you or you can pack up and leave'.
That was just one thing there were others and not just to us (Just talk to the CTV guys about what else happened).
