Blughhhhhhh
Dec. 17th, 2007 09:52 amBoth myself and
gaspodia have had a lurgy that has been hanging on for days ... The weekend was basically blitzed and it's dragged on into today. I'm off for two weeks for Xmas but have an Interview this afternoon and podia has had to take the day off work ...
Bad throats and severe snots are the order of the day ...
Not fun ...
I need to dose up for the interview. The Hampshire commute is basically meaning I am spending 4 - 5 hours in the car a day on top of my working hours (which is slowly killing me - I'm enjoying the Audible Book listen time - but its a long day), and the interview is with a local company. Who seem to want me. The bad news is I'm asking for at least 10K on the salery they are offering for the role (an IT Infrastructure Manager role) - I'm not being greedy - what they are offering is way too low (seems to be happening everywhere outside the city in IT) and I can't afford to take that much of a pay cut. Even at 10K more it's a couple less than i'm on now - but that I can live with.
This is the third Interview (done telephone with HR, face to face with HR, Tech and Head tech conferenced in from Dublin). This one is with the MD because apparently they have to respec the job to get the salery I'm after. I take the fact that its gone this far as a good one - but after the Oxford job fiasco (where a company offered me a job after three hefty interviews - then four days later withdrew the offer as they found someone cheaper) I'm not getting my hopes up too much.
