Blue Harvest
Jan. 19th, 2008 02:35 pm(Which i'm sure you all know was the original working title for the first Star Wars film, to keep it under wraps).
Anyway - I have just watched the Family Guy 'Blue Harvest' episode.

I won't give any of the jokes away.
Its good - is it funny than Thumbwars ? Not so sure - both have their moments. Thumbwars was more a total parody, whereas this is a virtual scene for scene remake.
Blue Harvest gets funnier as it goes on, and some of the best moments are when they are underlining plot holes - but always with a smile.
It's more than obvious everyone who worked on the episode is a huge fan - the attention to detail is stunning as is some of the animation - check out the reflections on the floor when they are on the death star and the love that has gone into every aspect is apparent. Also note the explosions for both Alderran and the Death Star - They are the original explosions rather than the later Praxis style shockwave explosions. Oh - and guess who shoots first :)
Anyway - It's a great episode and works even for non Family Guy fans as it keeps the family guy self references to a minimum.
Well worth a watch ...
