I've been quite happy with my SkyPlus box so far, which isnt to say a Tivo isnt better. I might turn my MythTV box into a proper PVR - at the moment it can only play computer encoded video and not record it iself. The problem is that I have no way of getting Sky signal into my Linux box AFAIK. If I get a Digital tuner then I am limited to the free-to-air channels.
I was hoping to get a second hand SkyPlus box and "mod" that one with a bigger HD without ruining the warranty on my newish (pre-HighDefinition) one.
