We've run a Sky+ box (without any of the premium services) along side a Media Center PC. Basically, I vote for the Media Center, even with the associated foibles of a home built, underpowered crate. It plays back all my downloaded media, has a 2 week TV guide and a really intuitive UI.
I gave up on the Sky+ box when I found the UI too hard to bother with.
We're going to ship the current Media Centre to Seattle when we move but I'm actually going for a HD PVR from the Local Cable provider there for the day to day stuff. I'll religate the Media Center to player of Downloaded TV.
Interesting, our new Home Theatre system I've bought also has DivX codecs built in, which I am rather curious about.
I'm also curious to see how much I'll bother with downloading versus timeshifting through PVRd TV.
