Transformers ...

Hmmm.

I suspect [livejournal.com profile] blazingskies may be able to answer this ...

What is the running order of the various Transformers series - and which ones are considered real ? I know theres the orginal G1 stuff, then G2 which is just a load of reedited G1 epsiodes and I know about beast machine and beast wars ... what else is there ?

This is where I hate being a completionist ...

Ok then :)

G1 (aka Generation One) comes first. The G2 cartoons are generally ignored, as they are just re-edited episodes. (there are G2 comics, which *are* considered canon for the comics, but lets not complicate things)

The chronological running order is complicated because of the time-travel aspect of 'Beast Wars', but generally acknowledged (American) continuity goes:

G1 Season 1
G1 Season 2
Transformers: The Movie
G1 Season 3
G1 Season 4 (AKA 'The Rebirth')
Beast Wars
Beast Machines

The newer series (Armada, Energon, Cybertron et al) are a different continuity.

Now here it gets complex, because there's an alternate continuity for G1 that involves the Japanese cartoon series. My knowledge here is a bit shaky, but I *think* it goes:

G1 Season 1
G1 Season 2
TF:TM
Headmasters
Masterforce
Victory

Does that help?
