I have to say, I would be very disappointed if the Adelphi was EVER used again. As well as the reasons you mentioned, it's just downright unsuitable for fans with major mobility issues. The ramps the hotel used so that rooms were wheelchair accessible were awful: for everyone! Yes, the big lounge area is great but the last time I was there the food was lousy, the staff were brain dead and it was grimy and jaded.
