A nice opening and paced well, if a little slow.
Still has a nagging Alias crossed with Joe 90 feel to it but that may not be a bad thing.
There's a setting up of back story that could have been more to the forefront - but this is Joss we are talking about ...
I give it an 8 ...

Ratings in the States were apparently pretty bad.

What??? This is the most aniticpated TV programme of the year - in a tie with Being Human. How can ratings be bad???
Also downloaded latest Sarah Connor. Had a sneak preview of that. Really looking forward to that one too.

Date: 2009-02-15 09:54 am (UTC)The problem is no one watched live tv on friday nights (on main stream networks) everyone records stuff. It why its known as the death slot - its where fox puts shows it want to kill - In this case both Sarah Connor and Dollhouse ..
Well thats probably not fair - Fox is trying to up the figures for the slot - but the most popular shows in that slot tend to be Reality TV - in this case supernanny, which is down to the demographic that are sitting at home watching on a friday ...
I'm aim for around 11 at yours BTW

Date: 2009-02-15 05:19 pm (UTC)Very much a set up episode.
They went to a lot of effort to explain the concept behind the show so the viewer understood it (without doing the cop-out thing og having a character walk in and take a tour).
I would have preferred an episode that hit the ground running. I bet if the original unscreened pilot was more like that.
Looking forward to the series starting proper.
I confess I enjoyed watching Friday's Sarah Connor episode more. But Dollhouse is Joss, so I'm sure the best is yet to come.
