Is there a way of getting your incoming tweets sms'ed to your mobile in the UK the way it works in the US ? I didn't realise it didn't do this here, as as that was the main attraction (I really dont need another page on the web to wade through) I was wondering how it can be done here ?

Twitter used to sms to mobiles not in the USA, but they stopped it several months ago, saying it was costing them a fortune, and that they were in negotiation with various UK/European/Asian mobile service providers; they'd be in touch when the situation changed.

I use Tweetie for the iPhone, which lets me see tweets quickly on my mobile, but it's definitely not as convenient as sms.

Telynor has beaten me on your actual question.

For what it's worth, I use TwitterFox, a Firefox add-in, which puts up new tweets in the corner of the screen. It's not the same as SMS, but at least it means you don't have to go to the web page.

Twitter became useless for my purposes when they stops doing SMS updates.

I saw this application, Twitter Mobile recently on a feed of free Windows Mobile software I subscribe to. SmartTouch do a whole bunch of these apps where they use SMS to replace a web connection, but I've not tried any, just noticed them on the feed. No idea of costs or if it would work here in the UK.
