Lost ... for words ...
May. 24th, 2005 03:19 pmOK ...
'Previously On' 's... are a pet hate - generally you dont need them, and i'm sure they are often used as padding.
There are exceptions - Alias for example sometimes needs them as the plot really does get that knotted in places and long running story arcs from 2 seasons ago can be useful (sg 1).
But LOST ...
I'm finally catching up and doing all the episodes in order. So after episode 20 came the 'Lost - The Journey'.
There's me expecting a behind the scene type thing.
It was a 45 min 'Prevously On Lost ....'
I kid you not - Basically the entire Island (no back story) plot from the previous 15 hours or so distilled down to 45 mins.
I'm speachless. This aired in the episodes normal slot between two real episode after a short break - but Lost's main plot isnt that complex (what we 'dont' know is another matter)
Anyway - Suffice to say - if you are watching Lost - or will be when it airs here - avoid this till after you see Episode 20 'Do No Harm' Spolier city.
I should say it doesnt make the series any less excellent - it is, but Why ? Why do this ...
Anyway back to the real episodes.

Date: 2005-05-31 01:02 pm (UTC)If it is not too much trouble, could you answer a couple of questions for me?
1) Is it true that the large bookstore [Asahiya Shoten?] has been closed?
2) Do you know, if the used book store Adanami Shobo [387 Edgeware road] is still alive?
3) One site said something about a store selling plastic things and Hello Kitty stuff. Do you know what kind of place that is, meaning do they sell any interesting anime/manga related stuff, or just mainstream kids' stuff like Hello Kitty?
4) Do you know, if there're other shops in there that sell interesting items and the like? All sites seem to speak of food and clothes, but I really don't want either.
...I'll be staying in central London for all of June, so I'm looking for places to visit. :) Oriental City seems to be kind of far, so I'm not sure, if I'll end up there, if there are no stores that interest me.
Anyway, sorry for bothering you with random comments! :)
