Lost at the Office
Mar. 3rd, 2005 09:49 pmOK ... I'm finally catching up with Lost - Three more to do tonight and I'm there.
I do love the fact the best reference in the show so far is the most subtle. Not content with slipping Ricky Gervais into an episode of Alias, JJ Abrams once again shows that he's into the Office with a small and almost unspottable throw away remark in the episode Home Coming.
In one of Charlies flashback scenes Lucy says her dad is away buying a paper company in Slough. I heard it and didn't believe it so had to rewind to check. Love it. Most of Lost's reference are fairly obvious - some scenes even direct rips from Stephen King books (amoung others) - but that was a nice throw away line and if you didnt know JJ was into the Office completely invisible. Thats what a homage should be like.
