For those with SKY HD, BOTH of Sunday nights Torchwood (Oh – if you didn’t know it’s a two episode hour and 40 min double bill) will be broadcast on BBC HD at the same time as on BBC3 .

This is great news – I thought it might be when I noticed Robin Hood (which personally I quite like despite its (admittedly many) faults) is also simulcast on HD (and looks terrific). It’s a safe bet the Who Xmas special and S3 will be on the BBC HD channel too – I know they also have been shot in HD.

I presume this also applies to the Telewest TVDrive HD service.

Um - I don't know- is the BBC HD Trial channel on Telewest ?

Yes I think ...

... most of the time it appears to be showing "BBC HD Preview" but with occasional bursts of Later... with Jools Holland!

Telewest also has the ITV HD channel which shows a lot of Space 1999! (I'm assuming it's programming that was originally mastered on film and so creating an HD version is reasonably easy)

I've got the cable box with HD output, but I don't have an HD screen so it down-converts to standard when I watch an HD channel.
