SO God of War I and II - Yes

Singstar - No - well yes with major issues it says - that means no in my book.

Must admitI'm curious to know how much leaving out the hardware emulation saves Sony in terms of costs.

I've been digging on this - there's conflicting stories - some people say they have stripped a chipset to reduce costs (but that seems unlikely chips are not expensive and the programings done and dusted) some say the chipset is too rigid and the pirates cracked it.

Sony say they have changed the chipset for something that improves the next gen performance ...

SO ... theres a differing opinions ...

I know but I figured that what a chap might be willing to say on a public blog and what he might be willing to say in private at the pub might differ ;-)

Well, it can't be any more than £80, since you can get a new PS2 for that, and the console's been profitable for a while now. But it doesn't need all the cruft like a case, controllers or even its own CD drive, so my guess would be about £40.

Perhaps they were too optimisitic with how well the emulation would work, and wanted to get rid of every extra penny. Either that or they were worried about competition for new PS2s from the newly availalble second hand ones.
