Have you switched it on yet? Maybe there is a breeze block in there instead of innards.

(This actually happened to someone I know who bought an xbox from a dodgy supplier when they first came out!)

I suspect coming from Amazon it will be alright though.

Actually, you may be on to something there. Not so much the chips themselves as the fans, heatsinks and all the other stuff required to keep them from overheating...

Well, the room my main X2 4800 PC is in is noticeably warmer than other rooms in the house!
