Watchmen

So ... It seems the success of Sin City and 300 has convinced Warners that there is room for R rated comic book adaptions.

Snyder is to direct hot on the heals of 300, although it sounds like he is still having trouble explaining to WB that Watchmen is not Fantastic Four - oh well ... I'm suprised they got the rights off Gilliam

It'll either be really crap or really good all we can do is hope...

Watchmen is the comic series that asserted, finally, that all comic-book characters are deeply selfish, psychotic, hypocritical, violent, fetishistic perverts. The more powerful the comic-book character, the more depraved.

The Watchmen is the collected comic series I'd give to any fan of the comic book hero genre, because the Watchmen slays comic book heroes and pees on their rubber-clad corpses.

As for Znack Snider, he has made two of my favorite films. The trouble is he required template films in each case. He's a hack, making scene-by-scene remakes. Perhaps now he's finally ready to make his first film. I'll watch it, sure, but I'm not going to predict how good it'll be.
