Well with all the DW wibbling thats been going on (making anything I have to say superflous - except perhaps my prediction of the week - 'Oh Look - Jacks got a Broken Plot Device on his Wrist ;) ) no one seems to have mentioned a certain Steven Moffat's Jekyll ...
Bloody Great. IMHO.
Its well written, both funny and tense in the the right places with some genuinely creepy moments. Nesbit is suprisingly good at the duality role too.
If you missed it last night see it before part 2 next week.
I'm a little worried how its going to run for another 5 hour long episodes tho - still, Mr Moffat seldom disapoints ...
Oh and Gina Bellman ... I'm sorry but shes always going to be Jane to me...

Date: 2007-06-17 02:21 pm (UTC)Jekyll - just watched it. Brilliant, if a little obviously predicatable ;-)
It's another 5 episodes..? Ummm.....
Gina Bellman - she'll always be Adam's girlfriend with the false teeth in the jar to me....

Date: 2007-06-17 02:28 pm (UTC)Given that RTD has said the McGann movie is cannon he was last seen being thrown down a link to a caged black hole ...
Even if that's ignored he was previously left stranded on a planet turning into a Cat ...
Nope Jacks space hopper it's going to be :)
Back to Jekyll - Yes 5 more episodes .. I really hope SM's got something up his sleeve ...
A bizarre part of me wants Hyde's corporate owners to be Torchwood :)
Well - It could happen ;)

Date: 2007-06-17 06:14 pm (UTC)ot 'muct see' for me in the same way season 2 of 'My name is Earl' is. Which says a lot about my drama threwshold atm.
Of course Irish Joe did always go off on a mad rant about JN, so it's possible I've been Pavolvian conditioned to mistrust.

Date: 2007-06-18 01:27 pm (UTC)Was underwhelmed by Dr. Who.
The whole rocket to Utopia thing? Are we going to get a conclusion to that?
The poor (dead) bug girl? Why not make her human, and save a pot load of makeup work? (And as for taking the piss out of her speech patterns. That was just rude! And probably Gay!)
Jack and the magic torch? RTD has really stopped writing SF explanations, and has resorted to "And the doctor waves his magic wand".
Huge amounts of exposition while Jack does his magic trick. Or, more accurately: Jack doesn't do anything.
Gah!
Well, it was a setup for the final two episodes, so it ought to be judged as the first of a three-parter. But as a stand alone episode, there was so much missing.

Date: 2007-06-30 08:24 pm (UTC)Re - The 'Flash Gordon Ming Ring' ending ...
OK - The doctor still has his spare hand full of regererative energy ... So ... Mrs Master has Ring thing (rememeber Paul Magann movie is cannon - we know the Daleks disentergrated the master and put his ashes in a box and he came back from that) ... SO ... we stick the ring on the hand and volla (alla Odd Job in Carry on Screaming) instant Master ...
Yes ?
