The problem with ending 'Life On Mars' the way they ended it made making a sequel more than just a difficult idea but also possibly a bad one.

Ashes to Ashes part 1 was clunky, contrived and disjointed.

But ... (you knew their would be a but)...

There is a glimmering of a plot in there. I'll watch it. You know i'll watch it. Lets just hope it gives something back.

ANd I enjoyed G & Z ;) ...

Well, I enjoyed it - it lived up to the promise of less Sweeney and more Miami Vice.

I felt so let down by the ending of LoM that I've lost interest in the metaplot. So I'm just going to enjoy this for what it is, a piece of Kudos fluff (do they do anything else?) with some cool music (I knew most of it this time) and interesting characters.

I'll admit that Drake is going to be irritating, but so was Tyler at first. The idea that she thinks she knows what's going on will make things a little different (I hope). Gene seems to have mellowed (wine??) - is he going to be the restraining one this time around? And was that a Python he was waving around at one point?
