The problem with ending 'Life On Mars' the way they ended it made making a sequel more than just a difficult idea but also possibly a bad one.

Ashes to Ashes part 1 was clunky, contrived and disjointed.

But ... (you knew their would be a but)...

There is a glimmering of a plot in there. I'll watch it. You know i'll watch it. Lets just hope it gives something back.

ANd I enjoyed G & Z ;) ...

Ok, when they said sequel, I thought it would be the further adventures of Gene and the gang in real life, whether Sam was there or not. The road they have gone down is the 'it worked great before, let's do exactly the same thing, but with another actor in the main role' route.
