Not in our case. We stuck it out to the end, through gritted teeth, but shouted at the TV quite a lot (every time she was on screen with her parents, in fact). Excruciating.
We are back to whether Alex is remembering, or is really there. I assume you noticed that Gene carrying young Alex into the station is the same as the first episode.
