Ok – I’m in a silly mood.

It’s just occurred to me that Sylar is literally carrying a (stuffed) plot bunny around with him ..

And now we know what happened to Lex at the end of Smallville S7 – He turned into a Vulcan super villian …

Theres a few of these going around ... This is my favorite..

There are very few things that make my brain go WTF and do flip flops, However a discusion over on [livejournal.com profile] bipolypagangeek is doing just that. the conumdrum is posted thus ...

'An interesting question that came up while writing a short story:

If a future version of yourself traveled back through time to meet you, would you have sex with them? If you did (like my character does), would you use protection?

Let's say that you get tested regularly and your future version knows all your tests in this time period are negative. And lets assume that you trust yourself to be ethical enough that you don't think your future self would lie or manipulate you here.

I suppose it's possible that you have something that didn't show up on your tests. And while you'd both have the exact same strain, your future self might have a more advanced form that could be transmitted to you.

It's also possible that your future self has something that they don't know about yet.

But the paradoxes are the part I don't have figured out. I don't think it would be possible under these circumstances to transmit something to your future self. But if your future self could transmit something they just picked up to you, wouldn't that have shown up on the tests your future self knows about? If they passed an advanced form of something to you, would that change the health status of your future self? Would that happen before your eyes? Would their new health status impact you again? Who knows some good time travel theory?

The end result, I'm guessing is that the risk is probably lower than unprotected sex with people who aren't future versions of yourself. I could see being tempted to declare a fluid bond with yourself, but I don't think the risk wold be zero.'

Its .. some what *um* Bizarre (not to mention just wrong on sooooo many levels)...

I'm enjoying Dollhouse.

It took a while for the underlying threads to start to pull togeather withing the 'Joe 90' mission of the week stuff, but they were there all the time and by episode six we start getting backstory on the dollhouse and in epiodes seven echo as well ..

It's good stuff ... now of course i'm just going to really start to love it and fox is going kill it as thats what happens with shows I really like... I still miss Journeyman, New Amsterdam, Jerico and (of Course) Firefly ... all really good shows.

Now for the final four Galactica's.

This was in the Daily mail and made me sad (and not for the usual reasons the Mail makes me sad) ...

ANd I bet they are still all Muppets ...

I'd like to see Doc Horrible win dramatic short form, but given the fact that as usual two Doctor Who's (though neither was that good) are there, its hardly going to win as the people who always vote 'Who' will vote 'Who' even if they hated the episodes ...

Some people miss the point ...

It's also a shame Watchmen was too late for long form as it's probably so early it will get overlooked next year ...

I'm almost as excited about the new Trek movie (out May 8) as I am about the Watchmen...

From Trek Movie .com

http://trekmovie.com/2009/02/16/cbs-paramount-announce-first-star-trek-blu-ray-sets-tos-s1-all-tos-movies-coming-aprilmay/

It's pretty much everything clasic trek and all the movies - I'm mainly excited about the HD TOS S2 & S3 as I have the HDDVD S1..

However it seems the box sets are the original theatrical cuts - so expect the various directors cuts to follow ...

So See it. See it again to work out all the stuff you missed first time then read it ...

*ETA (From a comment in Emmzzi's journal)*

What I love about this however is how well the guy knows the source material - almost every sequence is heavily linked to its characters in the comic, 3 in a bed Jon, Rorscharch and the dogs, The comedians love for laurie and Ozzy catching the comedian as he falls out of the window. A true satrirical homage.

Ok - the various planned Editions / Cuts

Currently (well from 00:01 tonight) we have the cut the studio let Synder release weighing in at 2 hours 41 (ish)...

Just released on DVD is the 'Motion' Comic. Basically a slightly animated but really a talking book version of the Graphic Novel. Some love this, It's ok, but I still prefer my Absolute printed edition.

Coming in two weeks a DVD release of 'The Tales From the Black Frighter' animation which also includes Hollis Masons 'Under the Hood' done as a Documentary.

In july the Extended Cut of the movie is to be released (depending how well Watchmen does at the box office this may even be a Cinema release as well as a DVD one it seems) weighing in at around 3 hours 15. This was the cut that Synder was happiest with although does not include 'Tales' or 'Under the Hood' This is what Synder wanted to release along side the Tales DVD as he knew he wouldn't get away with putting them in the movie. It's possible this will be released maybe with branching or maybe purely as a directors cut, but I suspect that both will be released to milk the fans for cash. For me - Its the next cut all the way ...

In September the Directors Cut/Super stuffed extended and then some edition weighing in at 4 hours 15 ish - basically the Extended cut with a few more scenes and 'Tales' cut back in where it was supposed to be, probably 'Under The Hood' will be in there too - I suspect a reworked version of the opening montage for that, and more newstand guy/reading kid interaction around the 'Tales' segments ...

So guess what will be running on our big screen as a gathering in September ;)
